Well now, isn't this just awesome! :)
I was born September 29, 1940...oh no, wait, I won't make you read that far back. :)

I attended South Side Junior High School from kindergarten up until 8th grade (with an exception of one year at Sheridan School-I think 1st or 2nd grade or so). Cannot believe I walked back and forth to SSJHS "four" times a day.....rain, snow or sleet! We lived on Arizona Avenue and South 18th, so that was quite a hike (7-8 blocks). I don't even know how I had enough time to walk all the way home during the noon hour.

Ninth grade was started at good old Central High. (Met up with alot of my friends that I had at Sheridan...again). Felt so grown up going to this big school and moving to different classes during the day. (Up until a few years ago.....I "still" had dreams about not being able to find my locker!). That took a little practice, getting to the next class in time. What did we have, three minutes to get there? One of my favorite teachers was Mr. DeWaard.

I also remember walking through the door into the pool room.....and I just kept right on walking and into the pool - otherwise it would've taken me forever to get into that cold water~!

Had a high school sweetheart (Merlin Haas) when I was 14 (my parents wouldn't let me date until I was 14). Merlin joined the Navy and we kind of went our separate ways.

My first after-school job was at Olson Transportation Co. I worked in the office (with Shirley Shellingosky). Then my next "real" job was in the office at Honold & LaPage, Inc. I was there for many years.

I met and married Roger Thimmig, my first husband, and we had two boys: Randy and Rick. We later divorced and I married Steve Altman, who also had two children from his first marriage: Becky and Clay. Steve and I are currently living apart/that seems to work the best for us. I am kept busy every minute of every day. I am proud to say that I still have my parents, who are 92 and 94 years "young." They live at Terrace Estates Assisted Living and are doing quite well. I help them out with their grocery shopping, taking Mom to the beauty shop, balancing their checkbook, etc.

One of the projects I enjoy doing the most is putting out a newsletter every month and sending it to friends and relatives whom I don't get to visit as often as I would like. Besides Sheboygan, the letters go to: Howards Grove, New Holstein, San Antonio, FL (yes, there are two), Chippewa Falls, Plymouth and St. Augustine, Florida. At this point, I have a dozen people on my mailing list.

I've always loved dogs and usually had at least one dog most of my life. I think that is one of the hardest things to do in life.....when you have to put your dog down. My son, Rick, was "adopted" by this little kitty, who would follow him around all the time at his place of work. We checked the Lost and Found, etc., but no one claimed him. So, Rick took him under his wing. We named him "Chester." That was over five years ago. In time, Rick became allergic to Chester. Well, guess who has him now. Yup! Me! Chester and I get along just fine, although he does seem to be the boss around here!

Just last September I celebrated my big 7-0 with a big birthday bash at Rangeline Inn. I invited 100 friends and family members.....and would have invited 100 more, if I could've afforded it! It's hard to draw the line. (Yes, I invited some friends from high school. If it had been "money-no-object" I would've invited the entire Central High School Class of 1959!!) :)

Anyway, the party was a huge success and everyone said they had a good time. The highlight of the afternoon, was the Hankie Dance (I hired my favorite band to play---"Polka Potion.") I tried to get the video of the Hankie Dance on Facebook, with no luck. :( Instead of gifts, I told everyone to bring a donation for the Sheboygan County Humane Society. I had a box set up on the table for collecting the "stuff", thinking I'd get a few things, etc. Well, people began arriving with these huge bags of dog and cat toys, food, etc. I couldn't believe it!! And not only that, I was also able to present the Humane Society with a cash gift of $555.55!!! Wow! That was awesome! Made me feel good to be able to do that.

Well, how's this for a bio?! I just want to say that it was great seeing everyone at our last reunion and I'm rooting for another one in 2012. See you there! (Big, heartfelt thank you to Jack and Geri Zore - both of them worked so hard and have done such a great job with everything!).
